What Is the Current Status of a Fourth COVID-19 Vaccine Dose?
Some authorities are now recommending a fourth vaccine dose for selected groups to combat Omicron variant infections. This article will look at those recommendations, and whether they are going to be applicable to the general population.
Update: On February 14th, 2022, Sweden’s public health agency recommended that people living in in nursing homes, receiving assisted-living services at home, or anyone 80 years of age or older should receive a fourth dose (second booster dose) of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least four months after their third dose.[12]
Note: Information and recommendations about a fourth COVID-19 vaccination dose are changing rapidly. As new information becomes available this article will be updated. Last updated: March 30, 2022.
