Healthy Baked Apple Recipe

Easy, delicious, and nutritious way to enjoy an apple.


Ingredients:

  • 4 apples

  • ¼ cup roughly chopped walnuts

  • ¼ c raisins

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 2 tsp butter

  • Cooking spray

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Wash apples and cut about 1 inch around the stem, use a spoon to scoop out the seeds. Leave to bottom intact to hold in the filling

  3. Mix raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, lemon juice, and brown sugar in a small bowl

  4. Spray muffin tin with cooking spray and add the apples. (If you don’t have a muffin tin, you can use an oven proof pan.)

  5. Spoon raisin, nut, spice mixture into center openings of the apples

  6. Top each apple with ½ tsp of butter

  7. Bake for 25 minutes, let cool for a few minutes prior to serving
